We come together today to extend a helping hand to our dear friends, James and Nancy Chafin, as they face a life-altering challenge. In April of this year, James was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), a group of cancers that affect the bone marrow and disrupt the production of red blood cells.

Since the diagnosis, James has shown incredible strength and resilience, undergoing intensive treatments, including chemotherapy and numerous blood transfusions. However, the only cure lies in a bone marrow transplant, which he is scheduled to receive at UPenn in Philadelphia in the coming weeks. This life-saving procedure will require a prolonged hospital stay of 30-45 days, followed by numerous post-transplant appointments in Philadelphia. During this time, James will be unable to work, creating significant financial strain for the Chafin family.

The Chafin family's selflessness and love have always been evident in their actions, and now it's time for us to show them that they are not alone in this journey. Together, we can demonstrate the strength of our community and shower them with the support and care they deserve.
